Have you ever heard the saying, “The unexamined life is not worth living?”
It’s a fancy way of saying that if we don’t look at our lives and learn something, then we’re robbing ourselves of the opportunity to live a life full of meaning and purpose.
If you want to examine your life, I suggest asking yourself three very important questions:
- What do I want?
- What do I need?
- What do I fear?
Here’s your challenge:
- Take a pad and pen and sit somewhere you won’t be disturbed for at least twenty minutes.
- Write the three questions down on your pad.
- If you don’t know where to start, write out each question over and over until you know how to answer.
- Don’t stop to think or stop writing until your time is up.
What’s going to come out is a lot of junk, like ‘I don’t know what to say,’ ‘This is stupid,’ and ‘I have to pee.’ But once you put your ego to sleep and allow your unconscious to take over you’ll receive real answers to these three questions.
The answers to those three questions will help you figure out the direction you need to move in next.
