Beloved stories have happy endings, good music comes to a satisfying resolution — but that’s art. There’s no resolution in life or love.

Life doesn’t resolve until death.

So when we expect a resolution — to know how they feel, to understand why they did that — we’re going to end up disappointed.

There is no resolution. And that’s the point.

We’re not meant to neatly close a chapter and then begin another.

We carry our past with us like a blanket until we shake it off. Sometimes it chokes; other times it comforts.

We re-encounter the same lessons until we learn them.

We find ourselves in similarly awkward or awful situations until we understand how to embrace them.

And that’s the key to thriving in this uncertain landscape.

Life isn’t about making sense of things or creating order. Life is about embracing what we encounter in every moment.

If you look at everything as a burden, life will pile you with stones.

If you look at everything as a gift, the universe will bless you.

It’s not about stories and happy endings. It’s about the journey.

This is your journey.

It isn’t long. It’s the only trip you’re taking.

So what do you want to do while you’re here?

We have precious little time to experience the world from a place of wholeness.

On the young end, we’re hemmed in by immaturity, dependence, and lack of resources.

On the elder side, we face limitations that deterioration of health or familial obligations may place on us.

In the messy middle, we’re still trying to figure it out.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

There is no best time. You are as ready as you’ll ever be.

Every moment is the right time. Every way you start is the right way.

The only way to lose the game is to do nothing.

Whatever you’re waiting on, waiting for, hoping will happen will not. Unless you make it happen.

Knowing there is no resolution doesn’t have to unsettle you. It can be a blessing.

Knowing there is no resolution frees you to enjoy the journey.

It’s easier to find joy in the process when you’re not assuming you know how it’ll end.

Whatever you want to do, find a way to do it.

Whatever you do, do it with intention.

Because that’s all there is.

Enjoy the journey.

That’s your challenge.
