โIf we’re all made in the image of the divine creator, then there’s a spark of the divine in all of us. That’s where love originates.
โ
If there’s a spark of the divine in all of us, that also means that there’s a spark of the divine in people we don’t like.
โ
There’s a spark of the divine in people we actively fear or hate.
โ
There’s a spark of the divine in people who harm us.
โ
There’s a spark of the divine in people who commit atrocities against people we love.
โ
There’s a spark of the divine in people who terrorize others.
โ
That’s where love lives: in that spark of the divine.
โ
It’s easy to love people we know and get along with.
โ
It’s far harder to love people we don’t agree with.
โ
It’s a difficult challenge to find something to love in people who actively participate in harmful behavior.
โ
But if we’re to maintain our equilibrium in a world that’s filled with hate, we need to learn how to see, respect, and, yes, LOVE that spark of the divine in everyone.
โ
No matter who they are.
โ

Loving someone doesn’t mean we have to agree with them or approve of their actions.
โ
Loving someone means we acknowledge that no matter our differences, there is something divine and holy about each and every human being on earth.
โ
That’s your creative challenge this week.
